From the seeds of awareness and experience come the fruits of appreciation, understanding, and ultimately responsibility. The ÃÛÌÒapp Ecosystem Preserve & Native Gardens offers a variety of educational programs for all ages throughout the year.
Art Workshops (16+)
Explore and grow your art skills in Preserve spaces with our workshops, designed for participants of all skill levels. Children 10+ can attend with a parent.
Saplings (for ages 2-5)
Join us at the Bunker Interpretive Center each week through the fall, winter, and spring. Saplings programs will focus on exploring nature in fun, engaging ways!
Summer Day Camps (for ages 6-14)
Summer day camps are fun, hands-on learning adventures for children. Our camps provide a comfortable and safe learning environment where campers become immersed in the outdoors.
Weekend Wonder (adults and older children)
We believe that wonder knows no season so bring your curiosity to this once-a-month Saturday series. Held at the Bunker Interpretive Center, we're bringing in experts of all kinds to increase your knowledge, skills, and joy for the world around us.
Wellness in the Woods (college student and adults)
Pause to draw physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits from time in nature at the Preserve. This guided programming is available by request for your group, team, floor, etc.

One-time event offerings:
Forest Therapy | Saturday, October 18| 9-11:30 AM | Preserve Trails
You are invited to experience the restorative Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, otherwise known as "Forest Bathing" or "Forest Therapy" on the beautiful trails at the Preserve.
Discover the benefits of this nature-based mindfulness practice and enjoy a cup of tea at the conclusion of a collective wander out in the more-than-human world.
Walking distance is less than a mile with slight inclines. There will be periodic breaks for sitting. Please come prepared to spend time in the outdoors with an easy to carry camp chair or stool and what you need to feel comfortable outside.

Spirit of the Woods | Saturday, October 25 | 7-8:30 PM | Preserve Trails
Join us for a guided lantern hike through the trails to meet animals who call the Preserve home & learn about their lives!
Meet on Venema Plaza at the Bunker Interpretive Center for a guided lantern hike through the enchanted forest to meet animals on the trail and learn fascinating facts about their lives.
Cost is $3/child. Pay on arrival and sign up for tour time. Tours leave from plaza every 15 minutes.
This event is for specifically for families.
TurtleFest | Saturday, April 18 | 2-4 PM | Bunker Interpretive Center
Our annual celebration of turtles offers an array of activities to celebrate one of our favorite Preserve friends Join us for turtle interactions, crafts, and games like a turtle egg hunt.
This is a family-focused, no cost, no rsvp event.

Native Plant Sale
Each year in May and September, we hold a Native Plant Sale with the aim of improving the health of our environment as these plants are spread through the community. Everyone is invited to shop our sale for inexpensive, lovely, low-maintenance plants that help restore biodiversity and purify storm water.
Become a Volunteer
Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining and safeguarding the Preserve’s beauty. Share your time and enthusiasm with us, and we’ll equip you with the tools and plan, whether you’re working in the greenhouse or stewarding the Preserve with us.
