Michigan Flight Museum
Join us for an exciting day in Detroit, where we will visit two iconic locations that highlight Michigan’s history and innovation.

We’ll take a bus from the Prince Conference Center to our first stop, the Belle Isle Aquarium and the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, a historic gem nestled on Belle Isle Park. The aquarium is home to a fascinating array of aquatic life, and the conservatory showcases lush plant collections from around the world. You’ll have the chance to see the beautiful grounds and learn about the conservation efforts that make these spaces so special.

Next, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch from Two Beards Deli, featuring a turkey sandwich, pasta salad, fruit cocktail, chips, and a large cookie. Vegan and gluten-free options are available to accommodate all dietary preferences.

After lunch, we will head to the Michigan Flight Museum, where you can discover a remarkable collection of historic aircraft, aviation memorabilia, and artifacts. The museum highlights Michigan’s significant role in the development of flight, from early aviation pioneers to modern aerospace achievements. While at the museum, we will be joined by Claire Dahl, who has taught several CALL classes as Rosie the Riveter. She will speak about the history and significance of women in aviation and manufacturing, sharing inspiring stories of the women who worked in Detroit during World War II and contributed to the war effort.

Following our time at the museum, we will depart for Grand Rapids and return to the Prince Conference Center in time for supper at home.

Come along with us for a full day of exploration, learning, and fun!
